We have so many exciting things happening at Horizon this week! Let's start with a few reminders:
Carline:
- Carline begins at 7:10 a.m. and ends at 7:35 a.m.
- After 7:35, students should be walked into the front office.
- Please follow the directions of our staff and remain in the designated carline lanes.
- Student drop-off in the parking lot is not permitted.
Walkers:
- Stay with the designated walking group.
- Follow all adult directions.
- Use sidewalks and designated crossing areas.
- Keep cell phones put away while walking.
We cannot monitor cell phone use once students leave our supervision, but we strongly encourage students to keep phones away so they can stay focused on getting home safely.
Once students cross the designated street, supervision becomes the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Bus riders:
- Walk directly to their assigned bus.
- Listen to bus drivers and staff.
- Remain seated and follow all bus safety rules.
- Keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves.
Parents please adhere to the procedures in place. Please review the procedures with your child.
School Dismissal Manager Reminder:
Please make sure you have the School Dismissal Manager app downloaded and your child's dismissal method set correctly. If your child's dismissal plan changes, please change the default dismissal method in the app. This is especially important when your child will be a car rider, walker, bus rider, etc. Your attention to this helps us get everyone where they need to go safely and efficiently!
Please remember that outside food is not permitted during school lunch.
This includes birthday cupcakes, cakes, fast food, and other outside meals or treats.
If you would like to celebrate a birthday during lunch, you are welcome to:
- Purchase ice cream from the cafeteria, or
- Bring individually wrapped Little Debbie Cakes.
Peanut Butter Drive: Don’t forget—our Peanut Butter Drive is happening all month long! We’re collecting peanut butter through the last day of September. The top TWO homerooms with the most pounds collected will win a Main Event party. We can’t wait to see which classes take home the prize!

When registering, you can select Horizon Elementary as your school. Let’s show our Horizon pride by wearing yellow and red and aiming for that participation trophy! Whether you’re a runner, walker, or just there to cheer, it will be a wonderful morning for families.
