Dear Horizon Families,
I can’t believe we are already preparing for September! It feels like we just welcomed our Eagles back, and here we are already settling into routines, building relationships, and making memories.

PTA
We had a GREAT turnout for our very first PTA meeting of the year! Thank you to everyone who came out and showed their support.

There is still time to join PTA and get active! Your involvement makes such a difference, and we would love to see even more of our families involved throughout the year.

A HUGE Thank You to Our Volunteers!
We want to give a HUGE shout-out to the amazing parents and volunteers who gave their time to provide our teachers with duty-free lunch!

Our teachers work incredibly hard each day, and having a few uninterrupted moments to relax, recharge, and enjoy lunch means so much. Thank you for supporting our teachers and showing them how much they are appreciated!

Clubs & Teams Are Taking Flight!

A special thank-you to all of our club sponsors and parent helpers. We couldn't do it without you! We are excited to watch our Eagles discover new interests, develop leadership skills, make new friends, and have fun along the way.

Soaring Sessions & Pep Rally!

We ended the week with our Soaring Sessions and Soaring Sessions Pep Rally! Our students had an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and build community across grade levels.
Ask your child about their Soar Buddy! 🦅
We are excited to see these connections grow throughout the year and remind our students that they are part of something bigger than themselves.

BIG NEWS! OUR HORIZON FUN RUN IS HERE!

Will you help us get SLIMED? Or maybe you'd rather see someone turned into an ICE CREAM SUNDAE!
And let's not forget…we are definitely ready for a DANCE PARTY!
We are ready to have some fun while supporting our school and our students. Let's make this the BEST fundraiser Horizon has ever had!

Sign-ups are NOW OPEN for our Horizon Fun Run!
If you sign up before Kickoff Day on September 8, you will be entered into a drawing for VIP Reserved Parking at TWO school events this year! Talk about a perk! 🚗
  • This year, our goal is to raise $30,000 to support PTA events, teacher grants, and Eagle Supplies. Every dollar raised helps make a difference for our students and teachers!

  • We have some BIG fun planned for our families as we work together to reach our goal!
  • Students can earn their wolf ears simply by receiving their first donation!
  • IMPORTANT: Students must be registered on MyBooster.com to qualify for the incentives and rewards.
📅 SAVE THESE DATES!

Thank You

Thank you for following our carline procedures each morning and afternoon. Carline has been running rather smoothly, and we know it will continue to get even smoother as we settle into our routines! Your patience and cooperation make a big difference.

Dismissal & School Dismissal Manager

Please remember that we use School Dismissal Manager to communicate transportation changes and help us locate students during dismissal.
If you have not already done so, please make sure you:
  • Download the School Dismissal Manager app
  • Update your child's default dismissal/transportation information
  • Make transportation changes in the app as needed
  • Having accurate information helps us make dismissal as safe and efficient as possible.
  • Your one-time login information/code was emailed to you. Please check your spam or junk folder if you do not see it in your inbox.
We know that mornings can be busy, but safety must always come first.
Please remember:
  • Do not exit your vehicle while in the carline.
  • Do not go around other vehicles. Please remain in the carline and wait your turn.
  • Carline closes at 7:35 a.m.
  • If you arrive after 7:35 a.m., you will need to park and walk your child into the front office.
Afternoon Carline Reminders
  • Please remain in your vehicle while waiting in the carline.
  • Please follow the directions of staff and pull forward as far as possible.
  • Do not go around other vehicles in the carline.
  • Please have your School Dismissal Manager (SDM) information ready so we can locate your student quickly. (you will be asked to go to the front office to show your drivers license if you do not have your SDM carline tag)
  • Please be patient as we work to safely dismiss all students.
  • If you need to speak with a staff member or visit the office, please park in a designated parking space rather than leaving your vehicle in the carline.
  • Remember, student safety is our top priority!
  • A little patience and kindness go a long way.

School Procedures & Expectations
Parents, we sincerely appreciate your cooperation and your efforts to follow our school procedures. These expectations help us keep everyone safe and ensure that our school day runs smoothly. If you ever have a question or are unsure about a procedure, please contact the front office. We are happy to help!

The Eagle Way: School-Wide Expectations
As we continue establishing routines and expectations, please remind your child of The Eagle Way:
Be Respectful.
Be Responsible.
Be Safe.
Be Ready to Learn.
We want every Eagle to feel safe, valued, supported, and ready to learn each day. Thank you for partnering with us to reinforce these expectations at home and at school.

Bike & Scooter Safety

We have more bike/scoter riders than we've ever had. For the safety of everyone on campus, bike and scooter riders are not permitted to ride on school grounds. Once your child arrives on campus, they must walk their bike or scooter to the designated storage location. Please take a moment to speak with your child about this important safety precaution. We appreciate your help in keeping all of our students safe!

Reminders:

Fall Picture Day — September 1
Mark your calendars! Fall Picture Day is Tuesday, September 1st. More information will be shared as we get closer to picture day.

A friendly reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Enjoy the long weekend with your family.

Grandparents Day – Friday, September 11
We are planning our Grandparents Day Picnic from 5:00–7:00 PM. More details soon!

Please remember that Kindergarten students MUST have an adult present at the bus stop when they are dropped off. If an adult is not present, the bus must keep the student on board, which can cause delays for the entire route. Thank you for helping us keep our bus routes safe and running as smoothly as possible!

BREAKFAST IS FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS!

We encourage our families to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. A nutritious breakfast helps our students start their day ready to learn, grow, and energy to succeed!

❤️ A Message to Our Families

Thank you for continuing to partner with us as we build an amazing school year together. There is so much excitement ahead, and we are grateful to have YOU along for the journey!
Let's continue to show up, support one another, and make this a year to remember.

~Thank You
